Born in Maine and raised in Houston, Executive Chef Cliff Blauvelt has proudly called Denver home since the age of 15. What began as a college job while studying psychology turned into a 20+ year culinary career shaped by some of the city’s well-known kitchens, including Watercourse Foods, Steuben’s, and Tap & Burger.

In 2022, Chef Cliff and his partner in life and business, Cara Blauvelt, opened Odie B’s in Sunnyside, bringing bold, soulful sandwiches and rowdy energy to the neighborhood. A second Odie B’s location followed in RiNo in early 2025, and in November 2025, the couple expanded again with Boombots Pasta Shop, located next door to the Sunnyside location.

Known for comforting cooking and a supportive, community-first kitchen culture, Chef Cliff is also a Certified Peer Support Specialist and advocate for mental health and substance abuse recovery in the hospitality industry. Through mentoring his team and building recovery-friendly workplaces, he’s committed to reshaping what a healthy restaurant culture can look like.
