New Client, New Cravings: Meet Tessa Delicatessen
At Behind the Apron Media, we’re lucky to work with restaurants that serve more than just great food. They each have their own stories, soul, and personality to share. We’re thrilled to welcome Tessa Delicatessen to our client roster of stand-out Colorado F&B establishments.

This East Colfax gem isn’t just what the Park Hill neighborhood wants, it’s what they need. Since 2020, Tessa Delicatessen has been the go-to for all-day comfort classics, dishing out breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. It's everything a neighborhood deli should be dependable, delicious, and always ready when you are.
A Deli with Heart
Tessa Delicatessen is the fourth (and most expensive) daughter of Vince Howard, the deli’s chef and owner who moved to Denver from Los Angeles in 2015 with a focus on family and a desire to start fresh. Motivated to become part of his new community, Vince opened Tessa Delicatessen just two months before the pandemic hit. Despite industry uncertainty, the deli stands strong at 5724 E Colfax Street, providing sustenance of joy and happiness to loyal customers and visiting guests.
“I really wanted to fit in and be a place for locals to love,” Vince shared. “I always want to put my heart into what I’m doing — and my heart is here now.”
That heart is evident in every corner of the deli, from its shabby-chic decor, to a menu that reads like a love letter to classic comfort food.
Craveable Classics, Any Time of Day
Tessa Delicatessen is a come-as-you-are, order-what-you-crave kind of place. With pastrami piled high, soups and salads that heal the soul, and cult-favorite cookies and cakes worth saving room for, the menu hits home with nostalgic bites that never go out of style.
Vince swears he loves everything on the menu, but if pressed to pick a favorite, it’s the Classic Deli Turkey — layered with mayo, mustard, pepper spread, pickles, tomato, romaine, Italian vinaigrette, and provolone. Simple, satisfying, and one of the deli’s best-sellers.

Coming Soon: Tessa Delicatessen in Edgewater
If East Colfax isn’t in your regular rotation, we’ve got good news for you. Tessa Delicatessen is expanding west this summer with a second location inside Edgewater Public Market. The new spot will serve a slightly scaled-down version of the menu, but you can bet the staples (and the soul) will stay the same.
We're proud to help bring Tessa Delicatessen’s voice to life on social media, capturing everything from their stacked sandwiches to their signature sense of humor. Follow along at @tessadelicatessen as we celebrate their story, one craveable post at a time.
